Why I Hate Apple

Well many of my friends know that I am a serious hater when it comes to Apple products. Today I tell you the reasons for my being so:

  • To take what was originally free, then modifying it and selling it for far more than ethical. They are a ripoff of the Linux, and undermine the work of Linus Torvalds.
  • Agreed that, Apple started to combat the anti-trust issues of Microsoft. However, the iTunes upgrades have led many to downgrade their software. Now, is this what is called freedom? Is this the freedom we so deeply desire?
  • Well, the iTunes now doesn't have any support for other MP3 players. This is simply to reduce competitors. Now this has led to stagnation in media players by other companies. Think for a moment if any OS only allowed its own developed media player to be connected, what would be the outcry. So why is Apple being allowed free rule over our rights?
  • The Apple app store has draconian policies. After we have already paid a huge amount for the iPhone, we have to pay a huge lot of bucks to get an app. Also every app needs to be Apple authorized to even work, without rooting the phone. Again an example of how Apple is allowed free rule. This has led to many starting app developers to die out before even properly starting.
  • Another case of breach of ethics is not allowing other browsers to work on their systems. Now aren't the consumers enabled enough to decide for themselves what is best? We already have fast browsers like Opera, Chrome and Firefox available in the mobile world, and are better than Safari. So, are they that petty, that they are afraid of the competition?
  • Apple is under investigation for blockage of Google Voice from their app store. It wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that they may make up their own version of Facebook app, that you may have to pay for.
  • Also, the apple products are ridiculously delicate, to the point of where they have to be treated as diamonds. Now, is this what we pay for? There may come times, where some accident may happen, and the phone may break. Well, you are in luck if you are under warranty, hey have a policy of no questions asked. (Huge plus) However, if you aren't, you are literally condemned. The screen is not that easily available in the local markets, and the service centers take a fortune to fix up your phone.
  • The updates also cost out of your pockets. Well lets see, we have played games, used Android, Blackberry and Windows phones, used other software. None of these have ever asked us for a dime, after we have bought them, so what makes Apple so high-headed, that they believe they have the right to?
Well now you know, why I hate Apple so much. :-P
